Bob Marley Hope Road – A Las Vegas Immersive Experience

When Bob Marley Hope Road opened its doors at The Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, it wasn’t just another show on the Strip; it was a sensory celebration of unity, rhythm, and soul. Created by Trenchtown Productions, the experience invites audiences into a vibrant world where Bob Marley’s music drives the story, and the environment moves with it — every light, every shadow, every beat.

Behind the curtain, and across several rooms, an intricate theatrical lighting system powers the experience. That’s where Solotech came in.

Our role was clear: build a flexible, reliable lighting infrastructure that could carry the emotional weight of the show. With live performers just feet from the audience and no fixed seating, the lighting needed to be immersive, dynamic, and almost invisible.

Solotech was responsible for procuring, installing, and commissioning the entire lighting system, including infrastructure and custom-built racks for this newly renovated venue space. Working hand in hand with TTP’s technical team, our specialists delivered a seamless setup that supported the fast-moving transitions between scenes while enhancing every scene with color, rhythm, and precision.

Of course, no Las Vegas opening comes without pressure. With the premiere approaching  and the clock ticking, manufacturing and procurement timelines became a central challenge. But with constant communication between our team, the client, and key vendors, we kept things moving. Tight coordination allowed us to adjust to shifting deliveries and meet our milestones without missing a beat.

“Solotech was an amazing partner for Bob Marley Hope Road from pre-production through project execution and opening, said John S Barnett, Production Technical Director for Bob Marley Hope Road. “They supplied all the theatrical lighting equipment, network, and control. Megan Masching, Marcus Randolph, Inga Kalvaitis, and the entire Solotech installation team worked tirelessly to deliver an incredibly complex lighting system and supported the Bob Marley production team through a challenging construction and creation period.”

The gear was prime, featuring some of the best manufacturing brands in the industry. But what truly brought it all together was the collaboration. Our on-site team brought deep theatrical expertise, fast problem-solving skills, and relentless commitment to the project.

Opening night came. The lights pulsed to Marley’s beat. And the audience danced — exactly as the show intended.

“We are incredibly proud of the result for our guests and operations team for our unique, immersive show experience at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The Bob Marley Hope Road / Solotech partnership is a testimony to how producers and vendors can work together and deliver a premium experience for our audience.”
