– Denis Lefrançois receives the mandate from the Organizing Committee of the Montreal Olympic Games to handle all the audio for the Montreal Olympics.
– Solotech is created. Thanks to founders Denis Lefrançois and André Riendeau, in just one year they triple their revenues and quickly begin a series of acquisitions, and expansions, and establish some very important long-term relationships.
– A lease agreement for the Montreal International Jazz Festival is established. Then in 1982, rental agreements for Céline Dion begin.
– Though previously entirely dedicated to sound, Solotech now adds lighting. The first contracts with Cirque du Soleil start.
