ROYALMOUNT is a transformative project in Montreal that aims to blend residential, commercial, and entertainment spaces. Solotech was brought in to design and implement advanced audiovisual systems, from custom-built LED displays to high-performance audio solutions, ensuring the new shopping centre’s visual and auditory impact aligns with its cutting-edge vision.

State-of-the-Art LED Displays 

Dynamic Outdoor LED Screens

Solotech deployed large-scale, high-resolution outdoor LED screens across ROYALMOUNT’s public spaces, including the prominent Urban Park area and perimeters. Utilizing Absen LED technology, these displays, featuring cutting-edge LED technology, were custom designed to withstand Montreal’s harsh weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, and humidity. Solotech utilized rugged and weather-resistant materials and enclosures, ensuring reliable performance and longevity, even in demanding environmental conditions. 

To deliver a superior visual experience fitting for ROYALMOUNT’s luxury spaces, Solotech carefully selected pixel pitch options to enhance image clarity and precision. For the Urban Park area, a 4mm pixel pitch was installed, offering exceptional image quality and fine detail. The perimeter screens, with a 6mm pixel pitch, were selected to balance visual impact with larger viewing distances. The choice to use a lower pixel pitch than typical outdoor leasing screens was made to align with the client’s high standards and to provide a high-caliber visual solution that complements ROYALMOUNT’s upscale environment. 

The installation required precision engineering, with Solotech developing custom-built mounting systems to ensure stability and optimal visibility in varying light conditions. A key challenge was ensuring consistent brightness and performance despite the elements, such as sun exposure and precipitation. These displays are versatile, blending seamlessly into the urban environment while maintaining durability and reliability. 

Special attention was given to every aspect of the equipment selection to match ROYALMOUNT’s luxury aesthetic. The AV installations were designed not only for function but also to enhance the visual and experiential appeal of the entire complex and meet client expectations. 

Custom-Built Video Walls

In key interior locations, Solotech designed and installed large-scale video walls using Samsung, Planar and Absen technology, such as ERO-Touch, IP-rated displays with touch overlay and Flip-Chip COB LED for directories and displays. These custom-built walls required a collaborative effort across multiple teams, combining technical expertise with creative problem-solving to overcome installation challenges, such as integrating the video walls into complex architectural layouts.  

Solotech’s team worked closely with partners, adapting to real-time construction changes while maintaining the highest quality standards. The result is a visually stunning experience that enhances visitor engagement and can be tailored to various events and brand activations at ROYALMOUNT. 

Emphasizing sustainability, Solotech selected energy-efficient LED technologies that provide superior brightness and color accuracy while minimizing power consumption. This approach aligns with ROYALMOUNT’s commitment to environmentally responsible development practices. 

Delivering Exceptional Audio Solutions 

Solotech provided a comprehensive audio solution designed to address the diverse acoustic needs of the ROYALMOUNT project. This involved the strategic placement of high-performance speakers and subwoofers to ensure consistent and high-quality sound throughout both indoor and outdoor spaces. 

The project included the installation of advanced Bose and JBL audio equipment with a QSC Q-Sys ecosystem deployed across the site, along with rigorous coordination with various stakeholders. The team focused on adapting audio solutions to fit the specific requirements of each area, including the careful selection and installation of components to match the space’s needs. Technical challenges, such as ensuring precise speaker placement and tuning, were managed through detailed planning and execution to support both everyday use and large-scale events. 

A sophisticated multi-zone audio control system was installed to allow for precise sound management in different areas of the complex. This system ensures that audio levels can be adjusted according to the specific needs of various spaces, from lively retail environments to comfortable lounge areas, allowing individual audio control to ensure that every space is tailored to the needs of clientele. 

Centralized Innovative Security Control Solutions 

Solotech implemented a sophisticated centralized control center solution for ROYALMOUNT, integrating Samsung and VuWall visual systems into a unified management platform. This setup provides operators with real-time control and monitoring capabilities, enabling seamless surveillance across the entire complex.

Design and Integration Excellence 

From initial consultation to final installation, Solotech played a pivotal role at every project stage. This included detailed product selection, innovative design solutions, and meticulous execution. The coordination required was extensive, involving daily collaboration with over 1,500 workers from various partners. 

The visual solutions were crafted to seamlessly complement ROYALMOUNT’s architecture. Solotech worked closely with architects and designers to ensure that all visual and audio elements enhanced the development’s aesthetic coherence and contributed to its functional design. 

The complex nature of the installations at ROYALMOUNT required exceptional precision and comprehensive project management from start to finish. Solotech’s experienced technicians, over 30 of whom worked on-site seven days a week, employed advanced mounting and calibration techniques to ensure flawless display alignment and performance, even in challenging structural conditions.
