Solotech Supplies Video for Benson Boone’s ‘American Heart Tour’
Solotech are honoured to have supplied video equipment for Benson Boone’s American Heart Tour.
Video Designer Charli Davis knew what he wanted to bring Benson Boone’s show from concept to life, saying: “We knew we wanted to take the themes from his latest album and translate them into words that we could explore visually in the video content.”
The design aimed to bring the mystical and magical elements from the album and music to life visually, while creating a cohesive look across the show.
“We also knew we wanted the show to be very IMAG heavy, so developing a visual language that kept a sense of magic and stylisation was important to all of us,” Davis added.
Solotech provided the LED wall, using ROE Visual V8T and CB5 MKII panels to bring the visuals to life.
Video Crew Chief Phil Hesketh praised the ease of installation of the Visual V8T panels: “It is a great tile – lightweight, and designers and engineers love it. It is a great setup.”
Left and right IMAGs were covered by the CB5 MKII and powered by Brompton Technology SX40 / XD processing.
Hesketh also praised the support from Solotech, particularly given the scale of the tour: “Solotech has provided a great package on this. I love working with them; they really have their finger on the pulse when it comes to the big tours.”
Alongside the LED screens, Solotech supplied Disguise media servers, Grass Valley and Ross Carbonite cameras, and a custom CCTV and show relay system.
Solotech’s Ian ‘Woody’ Woodall reflected on the tour and the team behind it: “I remember sitting in one of the first meetings where the tour was being discussed looking at the first sketches. Looking around the room, I was confident that it was going to be a great show because all the right people were involved. When you go to a show, and you can’t put a finger on why it was magical, it is 100% because of the crew – and the crew on the Benson Boone tour are on top form. The show is amazing.”
